Botox is an injectable substance that paralyses the muscles that cause the movement that causes wrinkles. It is a quick and fairly painless process. I was in and out of the clinic in less than ten minutes. You basically smile and frown so the dermatologist can see which muscles need to be targeted, they inject you and then for the rest of the day you need to avoid doing anything that might move the Botox to somewhere you don’t want it (so don’t fall asleep on your face for example or have a facial). The poison (yes that is what it is) takes around three days to work but once it does you will be utterly hooked. In fact tsome recent research concludes that Botox is actually good for our mental health as well as our wrinkles.
It’s the single most dramatically effective anti-ageing treatment there is and I love it, but make sure you go to a properly qualified dermatologist, preferably someone whose work you have seen on friends, as done badly it can look truly disastrous.
