To say that I am obsessed with pillows is an understatement. Whenever I travel, the first thing I pack is my pillow. When we lived in the Middle East and had maids making our beds I wrote my name on my pillow to ensure it didn't end up on my husband's side of the bed. If my Hungarian goose down pillow ever goes missing (unlikely as I've had it electronically tagged) I can't sleep. Then there's the pillow case. Much has been written about the benefits of a silk pillowcase, and how sleeping on anything else will make the wrinkles in your face deeper. I can only confirm that a silk pillowcase is an essential part of your beauty routine. But make sure it is 100 per cent silk, any man-made fibre will negate the benefits. There's a time to save and a time to spend: this is a time to spend. My pillow case comes from John Lewis and costs £40, cheaper than an anti-wrinkle cream and more effective. Obviously the most effective way to avoid wrinkles while you sleep is to sleep on your back, but I can rarely do that.
